Jacob Roulstone to race the European Moto2 Championship in 2026
Jacob Roulstone has signed with the Boscoscuro-framed Team Ciatti to contest the Moto2 European Championship in 2026.
Team Ciatti helped Yari Montella to the title in 2020 and backed that up the following year with Fermin Aldeguer. Unai Orradre rode a Team Ciatti bike to second place in 2025, missing the title by only four points.
The 20-year-old Queenslander makes the move to the European Moto2 Championship with Team Ciatti after spending the past two seasons in the Moto3 World Championship, where he raced with KTM Tech3.
Among the 2025 highlights for Roulstone was a career-best fifth-place finish at the Indonesian Grand Prix in October.Roulstone said the opportunity to move into Moto2, albeit not at World Championship level, comes at the right time.
“The opportunity to progress to a Moto2 machine is one I am definitely ready for, and doing it in partnership with an experienced and professional team like Team Ciatti is fantastic,” Roulstone said. “To finally be in a position to confirm my plans for next season brings a real sense of a new door opening, and that fuels my motivation. My focus during the off-season is to ensure I am 100 per cent ready to tackle the demands of this new championship.”

A serious pre-season crash forced a lengthy rehabilitation before he could return to racing, but Roulstone still delivered several strong performances during his second Moto3 campaign. Among the highlights was a career-best fifth-place finish at the Indonesian Grand Prix in October.

“Since childhood, my dream has been to race MotoGP, and I have never wavered from that,” he said.
“I truly believe racing with Team Ciatti is the best decision to continue on that pathway. The relationships the team has across all aspects of our sport provide opportunities to step back into the world championship ranks, and I will certainly be ready if that chance comes.”
The Moto2 European Championship is regarded as one of the most competitive feeder series outside the Grand Prix paddock, regularly producing riders who step into Moto2 World Championship seats. Roulstone is realistic about the challenge ahead but confident in his preparation.

Roulstone has been based in Spain since 2020, and 2026 will mark his seventh year living in Europe as he continues to build his career on the international stage.
Alongside his racing program, Roulstone is actively seeking commercial partners to support his next phase.
“It’s no secret that motorsport is expensive, and attracting sponsorship from Australia can be challenging,” he said. “However, the exposure available to Australian companies is significant, as there are very few of us competing internationally. I would welcome the opportunity to partner with Australian brands and represent them proudly with branding on my helmet and leathers.”
