Round Two – Road Atlanta
Talent Cup Race One
Kensei Matsudaira claimed victory in MotoAmerica Talent Cup race one at Road Atlanta after an eight-lap contest that went down to the wire and featured multiple lead changes through the closing stages.
The Team Roberts rider emerged on top by just 0.150s over Rossi Motorsports’ Rossi Garcia, while Nathan Gouker completed the podium a further 0.275s behind after leading much of the race. Just 0.425s covered the top three at the chequered flag.
The race developed in several phases. Young Australian Sam Drane headed the field on the opening lap but lost the front while trying to regain the lead after Gouker had moved through to head the field. Gouker then controlled laps two through five.
Matsudaira then took over on lap six, before Jake Paige hit the front at the start of the final lap. By the flag, however, it was Matsudaira who had worked back to the front to seal back-to-back wins.
Garcia’s ride to second marked a strong result after running fifth on the opening lap and then settling into the leading group as the race unfolded. Gouker’s third-place finish ensured he remained firmly in the early championship picture, while Derek Sanchez and Nathan Bettencourt rounded out the top five.

Behind the lead group, Reese Frankenfield finished sixth, with Ian Fraley eighth, Sawyer Lafayette ninth, and Bandit Landers 10th

Talent Cup Race Two
Kensei Matsudaira completed a clean sweep of the MotoAmerica Talent Cup races at Road Atlanta on Sunday, the Team Roberts rider snatching victory in a shortened five-lap race to record the first double-win weekend of his young MotoAmerica career and extend his streak to three straight wins.
Nathan Gouker had looked the rider most likely for much of the contest. The Quarterley Racing rider led the opening four laps, with Matsudaira shadowing him from second after moving ahead of Jake Paige on lap two. Paige stayed glued to the back of the leading pair throughout, setting up a tense final lap between the trio.
The race was only settled at the last opportunity. Matsudaira finally got to the front on lap five and held on to the flag, beating Gouker by just 0.104s, with Paige another 0.117s further back in third. That meant only 0.221s covered the top three at the finish.
While Matsudaira got the win, Paige left with the outright pace benchmark after setting a new Talent Cup lap record of 1:40.191. Matsudaira’s best was 1:40.288, while Gouker’s quickest lap was 1:40.889, underlining how closely matched the leading trio were across the five-lap dash.
Sam Drane again featured at the front and spent all five laps in fourth, finishing just over three seconds from victory. Nathan Bettencourt rounded out the top five ahead of Sawyer Lafayette and Ian Fraley, while Bandit Landers, Colton Shafer and Rikard Herb completed the top 10.
The result strengthens Matsudaira’s early grip on the championship. He leaves Road Atlanta on 95 points, 14 clear of Gouker, while Paige moves to third on 54 and Drane sits fourth on 45 heading to the next round.
