2026 FIM MotoJunior FIM World Championship
Round Two – Estoril

The second round of the 2026 MotoJunior FIM World Championship at Estoril delivered a busy Sunday of racing across the Moto3 Junior World Championship, Moto2 European Championship, Momoven Moto4 European Cup and Stock European Championship.

MotoJuniors at Estoril

There were first-time winners, title momentum shifts and another reminder of how competitive the junior racing ladder has become. Kiandra Ramadhipa broke through for his first Moto3 Junior win, Milan Pawelec and Eric Fernandez shared the Moto2 victories, Álvaro Lucas made it three Moto4 wins from three starts, and Yeray Ruiz took the Stock win in a photo finish decided by one thousandth of a second.

The Australian interest again centred mainly on Moto2, where Harrison Voight was the strongest performer. The Cardoso Racing rider fought near the front in the opening race on his way to fifth, before adding more points in Race Two. Jonathan Nahlous also scored in both Moto2 races for AGR Team, while Jacob Roulstone’s promising weekend was undone by technical problems in both races.

Aussie Angle

Harrison Voight produced the best Australian result of the Estoril weekend, finishing fifth in the opening Moto2 European Championship race for Cardoso Racing.

Voight started the first race from sixth and was immediately in the leading fight, running as high as third in the early laps before settling into the top-five battle. The Australian was fourth when Dennis Foggia made contact with him during a close passing move, which cost Voight ground. Foggia was later classified behind Voight after a one-position penalty, leaving the Cardoso Racing rider fifth.

Race Two was harder work for Voight. He maintained a steady rhythm but could not quite reproduce the same front-running pace from the opener, eventually finishing 12th. Even so, it was a useful points haul and lifted him to seventh in the Moto2 standings on 30 points.

Harrison Voight

“It’s been a really good weekend for us, especially as we’ve seen real progress from Barcelona right up to now. The first race was very positive; it was great for me to be back fighting at the front again – it gave me a lot of confidence because it had been a long time since I’d been there. We’ve shown that we can fight at the front and we must keep it up; we’re working very well.”

Jonathan Nahlous continued his steady Moto2 progression with two more points finishes for AGR Team. The Australian was caught in first-corner chaos in Race One and dropped to 18th, but fought back to finish 11th, his best result of the season so far. In Race Two, JJ again showed solid pace and finished 13th, leaving Estoril 12th in the standings on 15 points.

Jonathan Nahlous

“It’s been a very positive weekend for us. In the first race there was a bit of chaos at the first corner and that dropped me down to eighteenth place… I had to fight my way back up to eleventh and that was my best result so far. In the second race I felt really good again; we set a very good pace.”

Jacob Roulstone looked set for a stronger weekend than the results show. The Team Ciatti – Boscoscuro rider made a good start in the opening Moto2 race and was in the top-five fight before contact with another rider severed a cable at the front of his bike. That triggered an ECU fault and forced him out with 11 laps remaining.

Race Two brought more frustration, with another technical issue forcing Roulstone to retire shortly after the start. He remains 11th in the Moto2 standings on 18 points after his strong Catalunya opener.

Jacob Roulstone

“I’m really disappointed with how the weekend ended. We’d worked well, even with pain in my shoulder all weekend… so to finish like this is very sad. I think we could have achieved two good results, but now we must focus on working towards the next round.”

Declan Van Rosmalen completed both Moto2 races on the EAGLE-1 Kalex, finishing 18th in Race One and 21st in Race Two as he continues to build experience in the class.

In Moto3 Junior, Levi Russo finished 23rd for SF Racing, while Marianos Nikolis retired after five laps for Team Monlau Motul. Nikolis remains 20th in the Moto3 Junior standings with two points from Catalunya.

In Moto4, Archie Schmidt completed both races for MTA Junior Team, finishing 22nd in Race One and 23rd in Race Two.

FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship

Moto3 Junior delivered a classic Estoril slipstream fight, with the top six covered by just over four-tenths of a second at the flag and the victory decided by 0.058 seconds.

Kiandra Ramadhipa

Kiandra Ramadhipa was the rider who timed it best. The Honda Asia-Dream Racing Junior Team rider claimed his first Moto3 Junior World Championship win ahead of Travis Borg, with Carlos Cano completing the podium for CFMoto Aspar Junior Team.

Borg’s second place was his second runner-up finish of the season, while Cano finally converted his front-running pace into a Moto3 Junior podium after narrowly missing out at Catalunya. Giulio Pugliese finished fourth, only 0.251 seconds from victory, which was still enough to retain the championship lead.

David González completed the top five, with Leonardo Zanni sixth and polesitter Kiattisak Singhapong seventh. Borg set the fastest lap of the race, a 1m43.615, on lap three.

Seiryu Ikegami’s improved weekend ended early after the Japanese rider crashed on the third lap, while Australian Levi Russo finished 23rd and Marianos Nikolis retired after five laps.

Pugliese leaves Estoril still leading the Moto3 Junior standings on 58 points, but Ramadhipa’s victory moves him to 51, only seven points adrift. Borg is third on 40, ahead of Cano on 37 and Zanni on 35.

Moto2 European Championship

Moto2 delivered the biggest championship shake-up of the Estoril weekend, with Unai Orradre emerging as the new points leader despite not winning either race.

Milan Pawelec

Milan Pawelec controlled the opening Moto2 race for AGR Team, taking his second win of the season. The Polish rider led the race from the front and crossed the line 1.544 seconds clear of Eric Fernandez, with Orradre completing the podium after a superb recovery from the back of the grid.

Orradre had been the qualifying benchmark but was sent to the back for Race One, making his climb to third one of the standout rides of the weekend. He also set the fastest lap of the race, a 1m37.606.

Harrison Voight was the leading Australian in fifth, one place ahead of Dennis Foggia. Foggia had started 25th after a penalty and charged through the field, but forearm pain and a later one-position penalty capped his result at sixth. Jonathan Nahlous was 11th, Max Toth 14th for his first points of the season, Owen van Trigt 16th, and Declan Van Rosmalen 18th.

Jacob Roulstone retired with electrical problems.

Race Two swung the momentum again. Fernandez defeated Orradre in a last-lap fight, winning by only 0.074 seconds, while Foggia completed the podium for Team Ciatti – Boscoscuro. Francesco Mongiardo was fourth and Facundo Llambias fifth.

Eric Fernandez

Pawelec had looked on course for another major result before crashing from the lead with seven laps remaining. He remounted and finished ninth, salvaging points but losing the championship lead to Orradre.

Foggia’s podium was achieved despite ongoing forearm pain, and it keeps the Italian firmly in the title fight. Fernandez’s win also moved him level with Foggia in the standings, the pair now tied for third on 61 points.

Voight finished 12th in Race Two, with Nahlous 13th, Toth 16th, Van Trigt 18th and Van Rosmalen 21st. Roulstone retired early for the second time on Sunday after another technical problem, this time a clutch failure.

Orradre now leads the Moto2 standings on 76 points, three clear of Pawelec. Fernandez and Foggia are equal third on 61, with Mongiardo fifth on 50. Voight is the leading Australian in seventh on 30 points, while Roulstone is 11th on 18 and Nahlous 12th on 15.

Momoven Moto4 European Cup

Álvaro Lucas continued his perfect start to the Momoven Moto4 European Cup season with another double victory at Estoril.

Álvaro Lucas

The CFMoto Aspar Junior Team rider had stunned the field at Catalunya by winning from 28th on the grid, and at Estoril, he showed that it was no one-off. Lucas took pole, won Race One, then backed it up with another victory in Race Two to make it 75 points from a possible 75.

Race One saw Lucas win by 1.902 seconds from Edoardo Savino, with Alfonsi Daquigan completing the podium for Honda Asia-Dream Racing Junior Team. Daquigan had to hold off Mateo Marulanda and Cristian Borrelli in a tight podium fight, with only 0.213 seconds covering third through fifth.

Qabil Irfan set the fastest lap in Race One but retired after 11 laps, as did Lorenzo Pritelli, who had been expected to contend near the front.

Race Two again belonged to Lucas. He pulled clear to win by 2.538 seconds from Pritelli, with Victor Cubeles completing the podium for Team Impala Honda. It was Cubeles’ first Moto4 podium, moving him to fourth in the championship.

Savino’s hopes of a third consecutive podium were derailed by a technical issue on the grid, and he eventually finished 20th. Daquigan and Marulanda were also both early retirees after featuring on the Race One podium fight.

Australian Archie Schmidt completed both Moto4 races for MTA Junior Team, taking 22nd in Race One and 23rd in Race Two.

Lucas now has a commanding championship lead on 75 points. Savino remains second on 40, with Pritelli third on 36, Cubeles fourth on 33 and Borrelli fifth on 30.

Stock European Championship

The Stock European Championship produced the closest finish of the Estoril weekend, with Yeray Ruiz beating Miguel Bernal by just 0.001 seconds.

Bernal had taken pole and again showed the speed that has marked him as one of the emerging names in the class, but Ruiz timed the final run to the line perfectly to snatch victory for Team Honda Laglisse FPS. Blai Trias was third, only 0.011 seconds from the win, after setting the fastest lap of the race.

The front group was tight throughout, with Jacobo Hinojosa finishing fourth, Lorenzo Fellon fifth and Alberto Garcia sixth, the top six covered by just over two seconds.

The result also changed the shape of the championship. Ruiz now leads on 45 points, four ahead of Trias, with Bernal third on 29. Fellon is fourth on 27, while Hinojosa, Filippo Fuligni and Alberto Garcia are tied on 21 points.
