Round Three – Barber

Twins Cup

Hank Vossberg continued to stamp himself as the benchmark of the 2026 MotoAmerica Twins Cup field at Barber Motorsports Park, the 15-year-old Robem Engineering Aprilia rider taking pole and then sweeping both races in dominant fashion.

Vossberg had topped qualifying aboard his Aprilia RS 660, leading a tight top three made up entirely of Aprilias, with Logan Cunnison second and veteran Chris Parrish third. Behind them, the Suzuki GSX-8R contingent was tightly packed, with Isaac Woodworth, Bodie Paige, Kevin Olmedo and Matthew Chapin all within striking range.

Once the racing started, however, Vossberg gave the field very little opportunity. He led Saturday’s opening race from start to finish, taking victory by 5.316 seconds over M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Matthew Chapin. Kevin Olmedo completed the podium for Karns/TST Industries Racing Suzuki, continuing his impressive return from Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Isaac Woodworth was fourth on another Karns/TST Suzuki, with Chris Parrish fifth on the Ghetto Customs Aprilia.

Aussie Sam Drane finished sixth in race one aboard the Yamaha BLU CRU Estenson Racing entry, just behind Parrish and ahead of Andrew Weyh. Vossberg also set the fastest lap of the race with a 1m29.264, underlining the margin he had in hand.

Hank Vossberg: “The bike was working amazing. We made some changes early on for Qualifying 2. I was able to go out there right away in the race and get the holeshot and just manage my gap all race long.”

Race two was delayed after a red flag caused by incidents involving Andrew Weyh and Rodney Vest, but when the 12-lap contest eventually restarted later in the day, Vossberg again controlled proceedings from the front. This time the margin was even more emphatic, the Wisconsin teenager winning by 9.809 seconds and setting another race-fastest lap of 1m28.915.

Woodworth improved to second in race two for Karns/TST Industries Racing Suzuki, while Cunnison took third on the Speed Demon Racing Aprilia. Chapin was fourth, Parrish fifth, and Drane again brought the Yamaha home sixth. That gave the Australian a pair of sixth-place finishes across the weekend, enough to hold third in the championship standings.

Hank Vossberg: “It kind of sucks that we got pushed to the end of the day. Nerves built up. But it gave me more time to think about what I can improve on. I definitely was able to do that in today’s race.”
