Round One – Phillip Island
FP1
Harrison Voight was quickest out of the blocks this morning as the 2026 ASBK season opener began under clear skies at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
Beautiful morning at Phillip Island – Image RbMotoLensVoight was immediately into the 1m31s and then began stringing them together with impressive regularity, the Queenslander setting the early benchmark while others worked through their opening runs.
Harrison Voight – Image RbMotoLensAnthony West was the only other rider to dip into the 31s during the 30-minute session. His early pace signalled encouraging progress aboard the DesmoSport Ducati as he continues to adapt to the Panigale package. The veteran delivered on his final lap by displacing Voight from P1 with a 1m31.492 to claim top honours.
Josh Waters – Image RbMotoLensJosh Waters ensured it was a Ducati 1-2-3 at the head of the timesheets, a familiar sight at Phillip Island. The defending champion has enjoyed a comparatively quiet off-season but was immediately in the mix at a place where he more often than not makes his own come race day.
Jonathan Nahlous has hit the ground running with YRT – Image RbMotoLensJonathan Nahlous had been showing some hot form in the lead-up to season 2026 after confirming his switch to YRT alongside Mike Jones. YRT was not the only offer the youngster had on the table for 2026, but it appears he has made the right decision, as the Sydneysider looked to have immediately gelled with the YRT package. Nahlous ended his first session as a YRT rider as the fastest Yamaha.
Jack Favelle – Image RbMotoLensA promising start also for Jack Favelle, less than a tenth behind Nahlous.
Cru Halliday slotted into sixth, just ahead of Moto3 exile Jacob Roulstone, who begins his ASBK campaign this year aboard a Honda. A composed and competitive start for the 21-year-old in unfamiliar company.
Jacob Roulstone – Image RbMotoLensMike Jones was eighth quickest, ahead of Cam Dunker, while Glenn Allerton completed the top ten.
Glenn Allerton – Image RbMotoLensRookie Marcus Hamod recovered from an early problem at turn ten to finish an encouraging 11th, narrowly ahead of John Lytras.
ASBK returns to the circuit at 1410 for the 30-minute FP2 session, where teams will look to consolidate their baseline settings before conditions inevitably evolve later in the day as we head towards a forecast top of around 30 degrees.
